    We prove that it is always possible to add some divergence free drift vector field to some two dimensional spherical Dirichlet problem, such that the resulting principal eigenvalue lies above a prescribed bound. By construction those drift vector fields vanish on the boundary and their flow lines individually stay away from the boundary. The capacity of those drift vector fields to accelerate diffusivity originates from high frequency oscillation of the associated flow lines. The lower bounds for the spectrum are obtained through isoperimetric inequalities for flow invariant functions.

    International audience; In this work, we prove the well-posedness and propagation of chaos for a stochastic particle system in mean-field interaction under the assumption that the interacting kernel belongs to a suitable $L_t^q-L_x^p$ space. Contrary to the large deviation principle approach recently proposed in [2], the main ingredient of the proof here are the \textit{Partial Girsanov transformations} introduced in [3] and developed in a general setting in this work.

    International audience; Aucun épisode du Tiers Livre n'a suscité autant de controverses que celui du juge Bridoye. Convoqué par la cour d'appel de Myrelingues pour s'expliquer sur un jugement par lui rendu, le vieux magistrat déclare non seulement avoir joué l'issue de ce procès aux dés, mais l'avoir toujours fait, en quarante années d'exercice. Juger un procès aux dés était moins choquant à l'époque de Rabelais qu'à la nôtre, le Décret du canoniste Gratien (XII e siècle) autorisant leur usage dans les cas insolubles. Seulement Bridoye dit y avoir eu recours dans tous les cas. Et, le plus beau, c'est sa réussite. En quarante ans, il a rendu plus de quatre mille sentences. Environ une moitié a été acceptée d'emblée par les plaideurs. La cour d'appel de Myrelingues a ratifié les autres… à la seule exclusion de la dernière. Que penser d'une aussi étrange affaire ? Un « long intermède 1 », une parenthèse comique, dénuée de sens ? Ou une satire de la justice ? la folie des juges de Myrelingues égalant celle de Bridoye, pour avoir si longtemps approuvé ses sentences 2 (car, pour beaucoup, Bridoye est gâteux, sinon fou 3). Si divergentes que fussent leurs vues, les critiques se sont longtemps accordés sur la « simplesse » de Bridoye, qu'ils aient pris ce mot en bonne ou en mauvaise part 4. Seul Jean Céard 5 a changé d'avis. Après avoir vu en Bridoye un juge sérieux, travailleur, mais si humble, faisant si peu de cas de son

    We study the importance of few-nucleon forces in chiral effective field theory for describing many-nucleon systems. A combinatorial argument suggests that three-nucleon forces -- which are conventionally regarded as next-to-next-to-leading order -- should accompany the two-nucleon force already at leading order (LO) starting with mass number $A\approx 10-20$. We find that this promotion enables the first realistic description of the $^{16}$O ground state based on a renormalization-group-invariant LO interaction. We also performed coupled-cluster calculations of the equation of state for symmetric nuclear matter and our results indicate that LO four-nucleon forces could play a crucial role for describing heavy-mass nuclei. The enhancement mechanism we found is very general and could be important also in other many-body problems. 6 pages, 4 figures

    We study the asymptotic behaviour of a stationnary shot noise random field. We use the notion of association to prove the asymptotic normality of the moments and a multidimensional version for the correlation functions. The variance of the moment estimates is decreased by use of the isotropy property of the field. These results will be applied to the estimation of the model parameters in the case of a Gaussian kernel. The asymptotic normality is proved and a simulation study is carried out.

    For any subgroup of $\mathrm{SL}(3,\mathbb{R})\ltimes\mathbb{R}^3$ obtained by adding a translation part to a subgroup of $\mathrm{SL}(3,\mathbb{R})$ which is the fundamental group of a finite-volume convex projective surface, we first show that under a natural condition on the translation parts of parabolic elements, the affine action of the group on $\mathbb{R}^3$ has convex domains of discontinuity that are regular in a certain sense, generalizing a result of Mess for globally hyperbolic flat spacetimes. We then classify all these domains and show that the quotient of each of them is an affine manifold foliated by convex surfaces with constant affine Gaussian curvature. The proof is based on a correspondence between the geometry of an affine space endowed with a convex cone and the geometry of a convex tube domain. As an independent result, we show that the moduli space of such groups is a vector bundle over the moduli space of finite-volume convex projective structures, with rank equaling the dimension of the Teichm\"uller space. The main result of this work is the establishment of the asymptotic properties of the estimator, such as the almost complete convergence rates. Furthermore, the asymptotic normality of the constructed are obtained under some mild conditions. We finally discuss how to apply our result to construct the confidence intervals. Finally, the finite-sample performances of the model and the estimation method are illustrated using the analysis of simulated data.     International audience; In financial risk management, modelling dependency within a random vector X is crucial, a standard approach is the use of a copula model. Say the copula model can be sampled through realizations of Y having copula function C: had the marginals of Y been known, sampling X^(i) , the i-th component of X, would directly follow by composing Y^(i) with its cumulative distribution function (c.d.f.) and the inverse c.d.f. of X^(i). In this work, the marginals of Y are not explicit, as in a factor copula model. We design an algorithm which samples X through an empirical approximation of the c.d.f. of the Y marginals. To be able to handle complex distributions for Y or rare-event computations, we allow Markov Chain Monte Carlo (MCMC) samplers. We establish convergence results whose rates depend on the tails of X, Y and the Lyapunov function of the MCMC sampler. We present numerical experiments confirming the convergence rates and also revisit a real data analysis from financial risk management.
